Nachos at Home

Everybody knows that Nachos came from Mexico. However, did you know that Nachos originated around 1943 and there are actually several tales on how they came to be one of the most popular dishes not only in Mexico, but all around the world?!  Therefore, I present to you MY version of Nachos. I hope you’ll like them.

One pack of corn chips

Fresh tomatoes (2 big and 4 smaller)

Cheese (any type that melts well is good)

Salsa (I used store bought one, but you can try and make one at home)

Onion (my favourite is red)

Garlic (one or two cloves is enough)

Juice from half a lemon

Minced meat (I used half and half of pork and beef; around 500g in total)

Spices of your choosing (I used salt, pepper, cumin, turmeric)

Add minced meat into a pan and fry until most of the water evaporated. Add all spices, chopped garlic and onion. Fry until done.

In a separate bowl prepare avocado, tomato and lemon juice dip. In layers, lay you chips, fried meat and cheese onto a tin. Once finished, put into an oven for about 10-15 minutes. Enjoy with your avocado dip, salsa and fresh baby tomatoes. You can also add some crème fraiche if you like.
